Welcome to the Hungry Snail website. We're a not-for-profit co-operative helping the people of Wakefield to access more fresh fruit and vegetables - sensible food at sensible prices in convenient ways for local people.

We accept Healthy Start Vouchers, you can order and pay through PayPal, and we do free deliveries to your door in many areas. We're part funded by Wakefield Council and NHS Wakefield to go to local areas of relative deprivation to help people Change4Life - eat better and get out more.

Excellent produce, excellent service!

Received my first order on Monday after seeing the stall at Havercroft Children's Centre on Saturday. I am very impressed by both the produce and service.

I asked Paul if he could obtain Watercress and it was in my box! It tasted much better than the supermarket ones! The red peppers were fantastic, good size and so incredibly crunchy. The difference between Hungry Snail and the supermarkets (especially the big 2) is amazing.

From wholesaler to my door in one morning and not via distribution centres and lorries, as well as a lot less packaging. No more supermarket fruit & veg for me!!!

The quality of the fruit and veg is excellent and the service is the same.
More people should be using this service.
