Summer holiday

11Jul2011

We are now suspending our service until further notice, sorry for any inconvenience.

This means no stalls or deliveries at the moment.

More detail:

  • We've been facing numerous challenges since before Christmas
  • Especially after our Public Meeting in March we've had loads of support and help - a big thank you to everyone including customers and volunteers

I'm sure there are many more reasons than this, but here is one newspaper's alternative take on the issue today:

British Apples

If poetry is the food of love, write on...

19Jul2010

One of our customers, Vera Bradbury from Sharlston, has written us a poem! This is great, and we're all very pleased here in the Hungry Snail Food Co-op. We love people getting involved, and we already have loads of pictures of snails, plus a book, a mosaic, and a giant papier mache snail from last year's Soul Portobello - but now this poem takes it to another level. Thanks Vera, we love you ...@~"

Here's the poem in full:

This week's selection

19Apr2010

Hi Hungry people

We've now published this week's price list for your delectation. You'll be pleased to know most prices have gone down this week despite the air chaos, and we're not expecting too much impact from the volcano fallout.

We have bought three times as much rhubarb this week as we always seem to sell out (it's outdoor, not forced, but it is English :-)
